Trond Sæverud is a Norwegian violinist and conductor born on April 9, 1962, in Bergen, now residing in the USA. He studied under Isaac Shuldman in Oslo and Spytihněv Šorm in Bergen. Sæverud has served as concertmaster and soloist in Norway, Denmark, and the USA, including with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, London. He earned a doctoral degree in conducting from the University of Kansas in 2002. He is the founder and artistic director of the Passamaquoddy Bay Symphony Orchestra and leads several musical groups.
