Tsuna Iwami was a Japanese composer and shakuhachi player who lived in South America. He began studying the shakuhachi at age seven, earning a master's rank in the Kinko style. He emigrated to Brazil in 1956, where he performed with various musicians and organized concerts. In Brazil, he taught many students and became the president of the Brazilian Association of Japanese Classical Music in 1989. Iwami also recorded a radio show about shakuhachi music history in Japan and frequently visited Japan for the Kinko school's master title ceremonies.
