Tsutomu Shimamura (born January 26, 1933) is a Japanese editor, critic, and translator. He graduated from the University of Tokyo in 1957 and worked for Chuo Koronsha, eventually becoming the editor-in-chief of 'Chuo Koron.' In 1973, he left the company and has since been a visiting professor at Takushoku University's Institute of Overseas Affairs, as well as continuing his work as a critic.
