Tumo Turbo was an Ethiopian marathon runner born on February 23, 1970. He made significant achievements in the marathon circuit, including a sixth place finish at the 1993 IAAF World Cup Marathon and winning the inaugural Prague Marathon in 1995. He competed in the 1996 Olympics after winning the Houston Marathon. Turbo set a personal best time of 2:09:00 at the 1995 Biwa Lake Marathon. Sadly, he passed away on October 27, 2008, in a bus accident between Addis Ababa and Awassa.
