Tyge W. Böcher was a Danish botanist, evolutionary biologist, plant ecologist, and plant geographer. He served as a professor of botany at the University of Copenhagen from 1954 to 1979. Böcher was recognized for his contributions to botany and was awarded the Knight of the Dannebrog in 1962 and promoted to Knight 1st Class in 1971. He was the brother of geographer Steen B. Böcher and had four children, including zoologist Jens Böcher.
