Uddhab Bharali is a scientist, inventor, and engineer from Lakhimpur district, Assam. He gained recognition when he was awarded the second prize in the Create the Future Design Contest for his invention of a benchtop pomegranate de-seeder in July 2012. Bharali holds a total of 39 patents for his technological innovations and has invented approximately 118 devices. Notably, he created a low-cost polyethylene production machine in 1988. He was also nominated for the World Technology Award and received the Padma Shri award from the Government of India in 2019 for his contributions.
