Lieutenant Ummer Fayaz Parray (8 June 1994 – 10 May 2017) was a dedicated Indian Army officer who tragically lost his life at the hands of terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir. He was commissioned into the army on 10 December 2016 and served with the 2nd battalion of the Rajputana Rifles. His abduction and subsequent murder in May 2017 by militants from Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen marked a significant loss for the armed forces and the nation.
