Urmas Oru, born on March 2, 1971, is an Estonian journalist who has served as the chairman of Kanal 2 and was a member of the Estonia Public Broadcasting Council. Since July 25, 2022, he has held the position of chief editor for ETV and ETV2. On December 22, 2023, Oru unilaterally prohibited the airing of the satirical sketch show 'Kinoteatri õhtune vöönd', stating it undermined the image of ERR, a decision that drew widespread criticism for excessive censorship in public broadcasting.
