Urmas Podnek is an Estonian singer born on July 8, 1966. He was part of the band Metallist from 1982 to 1985 and again from 1987 to 1990, and also performed with Vanemõde. In 1989, he emigrated to the USA with Metallist, returning to Estonia later to form the band Nice Try. He also sang the role of Judas in the rock opera 'Jesus Christ Superstar' concert performance and was voted the best male singer by his peers in 1992.
