Vaithilingam Balachandran is a Sri Lankan Tamil politician and former Member of Parliament, born on December 18, 1951. He is known for contesting the 1994 parliamentary elections as a candidate for the Democratic People's Liberation Front (DPLF) in the Vanni District, where he was elected. Subsequent attempts to secure a parliamentary seat in 2001 and 2010 as a DPLF candidate in the same district were unsuccessful. Balachandran identifies as Hindu and has been active in Sri Lankan politics.
