He was educated at Holy Trinity College, Commercial College, and Administrative Staff College in India. He also attended the ILO/UN Staff College in Torino, Italy, where he earned a diploma in the strategic use of IT and holds a special diploma in Industrial Law. Puththirasigamoney served as the Deputy Minister of Justice and Law Reforms from 2007 to 2010.
