Valentine Joseph Doube was an Australian politician born on January 3, 1915, in Brighton. He received a Diploma of Physical Education from Melbourne University and taught physical education before serving in World War II. Doube joined the Labor Party in 1945 and was elected to the Victorian Legislative Assembly in 1950. He held the position of Minister for Health briefly and returned to the Assembly in 1970 for Albert Park, retiring in 1979. After politics, he became involved in humanitarian efforts with Amnesty International.
