Valentin Murko was a prominent shipbuilding engineer born on March 11, 1937, in Kherson, Ukraine. After graduating from a naval school, he worked on ships of the Black Sea Fleet until 1958. He studied at Mykolayiv Shipbuilding Institute, then joined the enterprise 'Zvezdochka' in Severodvinsk. Murko held key positions, including chief builder of nuclear submarines. He later served as chief engineer at Nerypa and later became director. After studying at the Academy of National Economy, he worked in the Ministry of Shipbuilding Industry until 1991 and then led the Marine Shipbuilding concern until retirement in 2004.
