Valentin Mikhailovich Snegiryov was a Soviet and Russian musician, drummer, and teacher, born on February 16, 1932, and passed away on November 11, 2018, in Moscow. He was a renowned timpanist and soloist with the USSR State Academic Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Evgeny Svetlanov. Snegiryov was a professor at the Moscow State Conservatory since 1985 and was honored with the title of People's Artist of the Russian Federation in 2002. He greatly influenced the education of percussionists in the Moscow School of Percussion Instruments.
