Valentina Calestru is a Moldovan operatic soprano born on December 26, 1952, in Criuleni or Onițcani. She studied at the G. Musicescu Institute of Arts in Chișinău and later at the A. Nejdanova Conservatory in Odesa. Since 1980, she has been a soloist at the National Opera of Chișinău, making her debut in 'Cavalleria Rusticana'. Her repertoire includes roles in operas by Verdi, Tchaikovsky, Bellini, Puccini, and others, and she has performed internationally in cities such as Bucharest, Prague, and London.
