Valerii Ivanovych Cherep (born March 23, 1940, in Danilo-Ivanivka, Zaporizhia Oblast) is a Soviet politician who served as a candidate member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine from 1981 to 1990. He was also a deputy in the Supreme Soviet of the Ukrainian SSR during the 10th and 11th convocations. Cherep held the position of Chairman of the State Committee of Ukraine for Construction and Architecture from May 7, 2002, until April 1, 2005.
