Valery Grigoryevich Bondur is a Soviet and Russian scientist born on October 28, 1947, in Poltava, known for his contributions to aerospace research of the Earth. He served as the Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Sciences from 2017 to 2022 and became an academician in 2003. Bondur was also a corresponding member of the Academy since 2000 and an international member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences since 2017. He holds a Doctorate in Technical Sciences obtained in 1990 and has been recognized as a professor since 1993.
