V. S. R. Arunachalam (10 November 1935 - 16 August 2023) was an Indian scientist and the former head of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) in India. He was also the founder and chairman of the Center for Study of Science, Technology and Policy (CSTEP), a think tank based in Bangalore, focusing on science and technology policy. Arunachalam played a significant role in advancing India's defense research and development capabilities.
