Born in Kolhapur, he was a pioneer in the road transport sector, revolutionizing cargo transportation. Ghatge completed a Master of Science in Botany. His company expanded into various industries, offering notable customer service and sales. He also produced the 'Laxmi Scooterette' in collaboration with the Kirloskar Group. Ghatge was involved with the Deccan Association but passed away in 1986 due to health issues. His legacy continues with Ghatge Patil Transports leading under his family's management.
