Vasile Baghiu is a Romanian poet and writer born in 1965 in Borlești, Neamț County. With numerous volumes of poetry and fiction to his name, Baghiu's work reflects his early experiences as a nurse in a tuberculosis sanatorium. He is recognized for introducing the concept of 'chimerism' in poetry. In 1998, he published memoirs of his father, who had been a Soviet POW. Currently, he resides in Piatra Neamț, and is active in the Romanian branch of PEN, with his works translated into English and featured in various literary magazines.
