Vasily Nikolayevich Chekashov, born on April 18, 1955, in Magnitogorsk, Chelyabinsk Oblast, RSFSR, is a Soviet and Russian artist, designer, scenographer, poet, composer, and singer. He is a Honored Artist of Russia and has lived and worked in Moscow since 1987. Chekashov has held over 40 major thematic solo exhibitions in Russia and abroad. He has received Grand Prix awards and is a laureate of both Russian and international social poster competitions. He also designed the logo for the newspaper 'Komsomolskaya Pravda!' and the emblem for the 55th anniversary of the Great Victory.
