Vasily Fedotovich Chernobay (December 11, 1937 – July 27, 2015) was a prominent Russian biologist who held a PhD and served as a professor at the Department of Zoology, Ecology, and General Biology at Volgograd State Pedagogical University. He was the chairman of the Volgograd branch of the Russian Bird Conservation Union and an honorary member of the Union. Chernobay authored over 170 scientific publications and contributed significantly to the fields of ornithology and parasitology, along with ten educational guides on zoology and nature conservation in the Lower Volga region.
