Vasily Nikolaevich Gorshkov (December 17, 1920 - August 31, 1944) was a heroic soldier who died bravely during the Great Patriotic War. He served as a commander of a rifle platoon and held the rank of junior sergeant in 1943. After completing his training, he became a junior lieutenant in 1944. He was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union in 1943 for his valor and contribution to the war effort.
