Vasily Petrovich Koloshenko was a prominent Soviet pilot born on May 24, 1922, in Strilnyky, Pryluky Raion. He served as a pilot in the Polar Aviation and became a test pilot for helicopters. Koloshenko was recognized as a Hero of the Soviet Union in 1971 and was an honored test pilot of the USSR. He achieved the rank of Master of Sports of the USSR of international class before his passing on February 17, 2015, in Genolier.
