Vasily Petrovich Shirinsky (1901-1965) was a prominent Soviet composer, violinist, conductor, and music educator. A People's Artist of RSFSR in 1965 and a laureate of the Stalin Prize in 1946, he was known for his contributions to music in theater and classical compositions. Shirinsky played a key role in the development of chamber music, co-founding the Beethoven Quartet and serving as a professor at the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory. His works include symphonies, quartets, operas, and music for stage and radio productions. He passed away on August 16, 1965.
