Vassilis Soukas (1931-1993) was a prominent Greek clarinetist born in Komboti near Arta. Coming from a musical family, he began music at the age of five, initially learning Laouto and later shifted to clarinet at twelve. He moved to Athens in 1959, where he performed in major cultural centers and became well-known for his collaborations with artists like Gioula Kotrosou and Thanasis Varama. Soukas produced classical and modern folk songs, particularly successful in the 1960s and 1970s. He gave his last concert in Athens in 1993 alongside Ross Daly.
