Vazgen Amirbekyan was an Armenian writer, journalist, and candidate of philological sciences. He was born on March 24, 1915, in Qarqilisa, Alexandrapol province, then part of the Caucasus Viceroyalty in the Russian Empire. He became a member of the Union of Soviet Writers in 1958. Amirbekyan made significant contributions to Armenian literature and journalism throughout his career until his passing on October 18, 1984, in Yerevan, Armenian SSR, Soviet Union.
