Veikko Kalmari Marttinen was a Finnish painter born on December 1, 1917, in Helsinki, and he passed away on March 23, 2003, in the same city. He was one of the founding members of the Taiteilijaliitto 58 and a member of both the Taidemaalariliitto and the Kuvataiteilijasenioreiden. Marttinen resided in the Lalluka Artists' Home from 1957 until his death in 2003. In recognition of his contributions to Finnish art, he received the Pro Finlandia medal in 1968.
