Veli Necdet Arığ was a former Turkish football referee and sports writer. He officiated 147 matches in the Süper Lig over a span of 14 seasons. After his retirement from TCDD, he also worked as a referee instructor. He was the author of several books, including those on Atatürk and wrestling, as well as a book about Ankaragücü. He passed away in 2009.
