Veliswa Mvenya is a South African politician born on March 8, 1969. She is the founding leader of the Batho Pele Movement, established in June 2021. Mvenya has a background as a mathematics teacher and was involved with the Democratic Alliance from 2000, serving as a councillor and later in the Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature. After leaving the DA in 2018, she joined the African Transformation Movement and ran as their premier candidate in 2019. Following her resignation from ATM in 2021, she founded her own political party.
