Venero Armanno is an Australian novelist born in Brisbane to Sicilian parents. He holds a BA from the University of Queensland and an MA and PhD in Creative Writing from Queensland University of Technology. After completing ten unpublished manuscripts over fourteen years, he finally secured a publication. Armanno is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Communication & Arts at the University of Queensland and was recognized for his teaching excellence with an award in 2004. He participated in the 2017 Brisbane Writers Festival.
