Veniamin Levich (March 30, 1917 – January 19, 1987) was a prominent chemist and physicist, recognized for founding the field of chemical physical hydrodynamics. A student of the theoretical physicist Lev Landau, his most famous contribution to science is his globally acclaimed book on chemical physical hydrodynamics. The Levich equation, named after him, describes the flow of currents in a rotating disk electrode. Throughout his career, he received several honors, including the Olin Palladium Award in 1973. He became a foreign member of the Norwegian Academy of Sciences in 1977 and was associated with many scientific organizations.
