Vénus Khoury-Ghata is a Lebanese-French writer born in 1937 in Bsharri, Lebanon. In 1959, she was crowned Miss Beirut. She married the French researcher Jean Ghata and contributed to the magazine Europe, founded by Louis Aragon, where she translated works into Arabic. Since 1972, Khoury-Ghata has lived in Paris and has published numerous novels and poetry collections.
