Věra Martinová is a Czech folk and country singer and guitarist, born on February 2, 1960, in Opočno. After graduating from the conservatory, she worked as a vocalist with the Gustav Brom Orchestra until 1982, becoming a member of the girl country band Schovanky. After five years, she began her solo career and was recognized as the first lady of country music in the Czech scene. In 1989, she suffered a serious car accident, which impacted her life and career.
