Vidar Austvik is a Norwegian flutist, born on October 12, 1956, in Bergen. He has served as the solo flutist for the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra since 1984. Austvik grew up in Bergen and Tysnes and later studied at the Norwegian Academy of Music. He debuted in 1983 and participated in masterclasses with prominent flutists. He has also contributed to various music festivals in Norway and Switzerland, and he is a senior lecturer at the University of Stavanger, where he helped establish the Stavanger Contemporary Ensemble.
