Viggo Helge Rossvær (born November 22, 1939) is a Norwegian philosophy professor, currently a professor II at the University of Nordland and former professor at the University of Tromsø from 1979 to 2009. He earned his doctorate at the University of Oslo in 1972 with a thesis on Immanuel Kant and Ludwig Wittgenstein. He served as an associate professor in Oslo from 1968 to 1979, later teaching in Tromsø. Rossvær is a notable critic of recent university developments, particularly criticizing examen philosophicum as a flawed and dogmatic study.
