Vijay Shankar Telang was an Indian cricketer, born on March 17, 1952, in Nagpur, Maharashtra. He played 58 first-class and one-day matches for the Vidarbha cricket team between 1970 and 1986, scoring nearly 3,000 runs. Telang was not only a player but also served as a captain and coach for the team. After his playing career, he became a coach for U-16 and U-19 sides and later the First XI team. He passed away on June 18, 2013, at the age of 61 due to health issues related to diabetes.
