Viking Nyström (1925-2006) was a Finnish biologist and illustrator. After graduating with a philosophy degree in 1959, he worked as a teacher in zoology, botany, and geography at Lauttasaaren Swedish Community School from 1960 to 1977. He was also a freelance illustrator from 1977, creating artwork for textbooks and nature programs on television. Additionally, he contributed a weekly nature segment to Helsingin Sanomat. His brother was Hilding Nyström, a banker and author.
