Viktor Mykhailovych Martyn was a Ukrainian scientist in the fields of special electrometallurgy and materials science. He was born on May 13, 1940, in Bystre, Poland, and passed away on May 2, 2006, in Ternopil, Ukraine. Martyn earned his Doctor of Technical Sciences degree in 1990 and became a professor in 1991. He was also an academician of the Academy of Sciences of Higher School of Ukraine in 1995. He was recognized as an excellent educator in the Ukrainian SSR in 1991.
