Viktor Alekseyevich Zhadko is a Ukrainian writer, scholar, and local historian, born on February 16, 1952, in a village in Cherkasy Oblast. He received a Doctorate in Philosophy in 2008 and became a professor in 2011. Zhadko is an academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, and has served as an advisor to Ukraine's Minister of Culture and Minister of Education and Science. He is a member of various unions related to journalism and literature and was an active participant in the Revolution of Dignity.
