Viljam Pylkäs (February 28, 1912 – February 6, 1999) was a Finnish farmer known for being the inspiration for the character Antero Rokka in Väinö Linna's novel 'Tuntematon sotilas' (The Unknown Soldier). Linna himself acknowledged Pylkäs as the model for Rokka in a letter dated May 23, 1955. According to Jaakko Syrjä, a friend of Linna, the author confirmed that only two characters in the novel had real-life counterparts — Rokka, based on Pylkäs, and Koskela, based on Einari Kokkonen.
