Vincent Peter Mroz (1922-2008) was a distinguished United States Secret Service agent and World War II Marine Corps veteran. He served on the presidential protection detail for Harry S. Truman, during which he was involved in a significant gunfight in 1950 when he shot a Puerto Rican nationalist who attempted to assassinate Truman. Mroz also protected President Dwight D. Eisenhower and dedicated 26 years to the Secret Service, retiring as the Deputy Assistant Director. Additionally, he played college football at the University of Michigan and Michigan State College.
