Vinson Filyaw was an American sexual offender responsible for the kidnapping and rape of a 14-year-old girl named Elizabeth Shoaf in 2006. He held her captive for ten days in an underground bunker in South Carolina. Filyaw was sentenced to an extensive prison term of 421 years without the possibility of parole for his crimes. He was found dead in his prison cell in May 2021.
