Violet Philpott (née Yeomans) was a Welsh puppet actress born on April 28, 1922, known for her role as Zippy in the children's television series Rainbow. She married puppet maker A. R. Philpott in 1962. Philpott's performance as Zippy made a significant contribution to children's entertainment in the UK, and she enjoyed a long career in puppetry until her passing on December 14, 2012.
