Vipin Buckshey is an Indian optometrist known for his work as the official optometrist to the President of India. Born on 3 June 1955 in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, he earned his degree in optometry from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences. He has served five former Presidents of India and the Dalai Lama, and he is a former president of both the Indian Contact Lens Society and the Indian Optometric Association. Buckshey is credited with performing over 15,000 surgeries and received the Padma Shri award in 2000 for his contributions to the field.
