Vivian Leona Mead Caver was an American politician and human rights activist from Washington. Born on June 13, 1928, she served in the Washington House of Representatives from 1994 to 1995, making her the third African-American woman in this role. An alumna of Morgan State College and the University of Washington, she was involved with the Seattle Human Rights Commission. Caver passed away at the age of 93 on August 22, 2021. Her legacy includes her contributions to human rights and representation in politics.
