Vivian Ann Davidson Hewitt was an influential American art collector and librarian, born on February 17, 1920, and passed away on May 29, 2022. She was notable for being Pittsburgh's first African-American librarian and the first African American president of the Special Libraries Association. Along with her husband John, she built one of the most significant collections of African-American art, showcased at the Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture. In 2016, she received the honorary title of Dame from Queen Elizabeth II, recognizing her contributions to art and culture.
