Vivian Alvarez Solon, born on October 30, 1962, is an Australian who was unlawfully deported to the Philippines by the Department of Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs in July 2001. Her deportation became publicly known in May 2005 after her family had reported her missing in 2003. An investigation by Neil Comrie revealed that DIMIA officials were aware of the unlawful deportation but failed to act. Solon faced serious mental and physical health issues during her ordeal and returned to Australia on November 18, 2005.
