Vladimir Alatortsev (born May 14, 1909, Saratov Oblast, Russia – died January 13, 1987, Moscow) was a hydraulic engineer, chess player, organizer, teacher, and writer. He won championships in both Leningrad and Moscow and participated in the finals of the Soviet Chess Championship nine times, achieving his best results in the 1930s. Notably, he secured second place in the 1933 Soviet Championship final. After retiring from competitive play in the early 1950s, he devoted himself to organizing chess events, teaching, and coaching, leading the All-Union Chess Section from 1954 to 1959 and the Soviet Chess Federation from 1959 to 1961.
