Vladimir Arsentyev is a Russian artist and designer, born on April 12, 1951, in Rēzekne. He is renowned for designing the official emblem for the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow. While still a student at the Moscow School of Arts, he won an All-Union artistic competition for Olympic medal design in 1975, surpassing 26,000 participants. His emblem concept was adopted by the International Olympic Committee in 1976. Currently, Arsentyev resides in Moscow and works in the field of graphic design and printing.
